A good place to visit with the family
Kandy is one of my favorite places in Sri Lanka. This historical city is surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges.
Thus it only takes less than 3 hours to travel from the capital Colombo, it is one of the best places to travel with your family.
Kandy holds a strategic location between all the major sites of Sri Lanka, its train station is connected to the central highlands.
Yes, you can visit Kandy by train. It is a stunning 2.5-3 hour journey through the hills.
It is a new experience to enjoy nature in a totally unique way.
Tip: A train ticket costs around 600 LKR depending on the class of the compartment of the Train which is fair and comparatively reasonable.
