A  good place to visit with the family Kandy is one of my favorite places in Sri Lanka.    This historical city   is surrounded by beautiful mountain ranges.  Thus it only takes less than 3 hours to travel from the capital Colombo, it is one of the best places to travel with your family.  Kandy holds a strategic location between all the major sites of Sri Lanka, its train station is connected to the central highlands.  Yes, you can visit Kandy by train. It is a stunning 2.5-3 hour journey through the hills. It is a new experience to enjoy nature in a totally unique way.   National Herbarium of Sri Lanka      - The Royal Gardens, Peradeniya -  The Botanical Beauty - what to See in the Garden The Royal Botanical Gardens also known as Peradeniya Gardens is located  in the Central Province. This is the largest garden in Sri Lanka.  It is  home to an impressive collection of plants and trees with over 4000  different  species of fauna spread over spacious 147 acres. This is the best way to experience some of the rarities and unique plants present within the Gardens. Here are around ten thousand plants & trees inclusive of 4000 labeled species.   Keep your eyes peeled - It's time for safari Ridiyagama safari camp is the newest addition to the wildlife reserves in Sri Lanka, This is a man made Park and the Sri Lanka’s first drive-through safari park. The 500-acre park is home to various wild animals. This park has divided into six different zones. Animals are living in artificial homes that are demarcated by huge fences. All animals have a separate cage that expands over many hectares. This located at Ridiyagama, Sothern Province. Tip :Mid-day is not the best time to see animals in the park, because animals move rarely when the heat is high.  Why Ridiyagama is different? Thus, this is the open zoological garden, y ou can tour the park by bus or a safari jeep while watching the animals roam freely.    One Ride-Many experiences  A Journey Down The Madu Ganga River This amazing river is situated  off South West coast of Balapitiya,  Sri Lanka. It is considered as the second biggest wetland. It is also considered one of the last remaining tracts of pristine mangrove forests in Sri Lanka. The river also consists of 25 islands, out of which only 10 are of small landmass, and other islands are safe to visit. The river covers almost 150 acres of land and consists of at least 14 mangroves out of the 24 mangrove species found in Sri Lanka.  It is also home to 300 species of plants and about 250 wildlife species are living in and around this incredible biodiversity area.  It is advised to accompany trained professionals or local fishermen when riding through the Madu River.
